Ingredients

  • 200g – Samba
  • 200g – Water
  • 250g – Butter milk
  • 120g – Cabbage
  • 120g – Carrot
  • 120g – Capsicum
  • 20g – Chilly
  • 120g – Tomato
  • 3g – Mustard Seed (rai)
  • 3g – Cumin seed (jeeru)
  • 4g – Turmeric powder
  • 30g – Salt
  • 60g – Sugar
  • 120g – Oil
  • 15 Curry leaves

Procedure

  1. Measure and keep all the ingredients ready for the Samba ki khichdi.
  2. Heat the oil. Then add mustard seeds to the hot oil. when they splutter, add the cumin seeds. Allow the cumin seeds to change the color and crackle.
  3. Then add chilly, jinjar & curry leaves saute for 1 min.
  4. Then add carrot, capsicum, cabbage, saute till it become soft.
  5. Then add turmeric powder mix well and add butter milk & water.
  6. At side wash samba 3-4 times.
  7. After boiling add samba & cover it.
  8. Stir in middle otherwise it will stick at bottom, if you will stir more then it will be sticky.
  9. Serve hot.
