Aloo Poha

Ingredients

  • 200g – Flattened rice (poha)
  • 150g – Potato
  • 100g – Tomato
  • lemon
for tempering aloo poha
  • 50g – Oil
  • 8g – Mustard seeds (rai)
  • 7g – Cumin seed (jeera)
  • 20g – Chilly
  • 1 pic ginger
  • 3g – Turmeric powder
  • 20g – Salt
  • 40g – Sugar
  • 2 twig Curry leaves
Optional
  • 30g – Ground nuts
  • 1 pic Pomegranate (dadam)

Procedure

  1. Measure and keep all the ingredients ready for the Aloo Poha.
  2. Heat oil in a pan or kadai. First splutter the mustard seeds and cumin seeds.
  3. Then add chilly, jinjar & curry leaves saute for 1 min.
  4. Then add potato & ground nuts. Saute the potato till golden & crisp, ground nuts till crunchy.
  5. Then rince the poha 4-5 times (till it becomes soft).
  6. Then add turmeric powder, lemon juice, salt & sugar & mix well.
  7. Then add poha mix well & off the flame.
  8. Then add tomato and pomegranate and mix well.
  9. Cover the pan or kadai for 10-15 min.
  10. Serve hot.
